Santo Domingo

Players share an identical deck of eight action cards and secretly choose one or two each round, then reveal simultaneously and resolve actions in a fixed sequence. Actions let players collect goods, trade them for victory points, or gain points directly, but supplies of goods and points are limited each round. Timing and anticipation of opponents’ choices determine the value of each card and influence market strength. Rounds repeat until endgame conditions, with scoring driven by efficient card selection and resource conversion rather than hidden asymmetries.

Same theme as Port Royal, but with a brand new game mechanics ;)

Cute filler game where each player chooses a card from their hand and does a simultaneous reveal, then gains things based on how many other players chose the same thing, or gains based on how many players they predicted the moves of correctly depending on what it says on their card. One card resets your hand, and you keep playing until someone hits their victory point threshold. For me it had a similar feeling to something like Incan Gold, with a few extra layers to think about. Generally enjoyed, and would play again. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★☆☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
