Seven Swords

One player commands seven samurai and a group of villagers defending the village, while the other controls bandits seeking to steal rice, destroy houses, and defeat samurai. The game lasts 18 turns, with victory points placed in villagers’ houses and rice stores; the player with the most points wins. Each turn, the bandit player discards a sector card to determine available actions and deploys, moves, and attacks with infantry, archers, and cavalry. The samurai player selects action chips to direct movement, combat, leadership, and villagers’ attacks, while additional samurai actions also give the bandits more opportunities. Bows, fences, changing village layouts, and variable placement of villagers and supplies affect each game.
