Hráči se ujímají rolí skupiny vikinských hrdinů, kteří se vydávají do zamrzlé severské krajiny a mimozemských ruin zamrzlého města, kde čelí bájným nestvůrám a robotickým strážcům zkaženým temnou silou. Každý hrdina využívá jedinečné schopnosti — velení v první linii, boj se štítem a sekerou, berserkerskou zuřivost nebo podporu na dálku — při průchodu modulárními díly mapy, řešení střetnutí, sbírání artefaktů a boji s nepřáteli. Mezi nové protivníky patří regenerující se trollové, roje skřetům podobných gremianů, obrnění centurioni a obrovský ledový obr, který používá plošné útoky a útočné výpady. Sada obsahuje nové díly mapy Knihovny a scénářový obsah pro plošinu Targa i všechny komponenty potřebné k hraní kampaní vikinských hrdinů jak v Severských zemích, tak v zamrzlém mimozemském městě.
