Stalingrad Pocket: 2nd Edition – The Wehrmacht's Greatest Disaster

A tactical-operational wargame simulating the Soviet winter counteroffensive and the German efforts to hold open or relieve the encircled forces around Stalingrad. Players command battalion-to-division units on a large hex map with two-day turns, maneuvering mobile reserves, conducting artillery barrages and limited air operations, and committing determined attacks and defenses. Soviet forces emphasize massed, deliberate offensives with fragile but powerful formations; German forces rely on mobile, hit-and-run use of reserves and localized counterattacks. Scenarios cover varying stages of the campaign; victory requires balancing military gains with political/endurance conditions. Components include a full-color map, large counter sheets, scenario and system rules, and two dice.
