Players run competing mining companies in 19th-century Cornwall, buying and surveying land at auction to locate tin and copper deposits. The game tasks players with managing money and limited work points while developing mines, digging deeper to extract ore and balancing rising extraction costs. Improvements such as ports, train stations, and adits can reduce costs but are limited in number, so placement and timing matter. Market timing affects when to sell ore, and players may invest profits into external industries to score points, with earlier investments yielding better returns. This edition adjusts player count and replaces random resource rolls with tile-based setup, and adds dual-use cards that inform or aid auctions.
