A solo fantasy adventure gamebook casts the player as Kardel Dolan, heir to the Duke of Pembrook. With trolls threatening the dukedom, the scattered pieces of a stolen magic crystal must be tracked down so the duke can learn their battle plans. The adventure uses a role-playing system with two six-sided dice, hit points, skill points, experience points, and branching choices leading to 20 possible endings.
