Aachen

Storming the Siegfried Line and fighting for Aachen, September 12 – October 21, 1944. This simulation covers the battle between the US 1st Army's VII and XIX Corps and German forces. The map uses half-mile hexagons, with company- and battalion-sized units and one turn representing each day through 5–6 impulses. US forces must breach two belts of fortifications, capture the city, and limit losses, while German forces use defensive terrain and weak troops to delay the advance until reinforcements arrive. Both sides attack and defend with limited resources. Includes 600 counters on two counter sheets.
