Baby Blues

2015 · Party Game

Baby Blues

Players are staff at a daycare responsible for five babies each and must keep them from crying. Hidden point values on each baby determine scoring when the game ends; the round ends if any player has five crying babies and others score for their non-crying infants. Opponents play problem cards—stolen pacifiers, dirty diapers, noisy toys and the like—to make babies unhappy, and players respond with remedy or reaction cards. Actions include feeding, calming with a mobile, changing diapers, trading cards, and countering opponents’ reactions. Trading and negotiation are allowed during turns, but trades can be deceptive, creating social bluffing and tactical cooperation amid the scramble to prevent crying.
