A standalone prequel follows Hook before the events of the main adventure series and explains how he ended up in trouble. Players talk to characters, explore locations, combine items, and solve puzzles in the style of a classic point-and-click computer adventure. The print-and-play story introduces the game’s basic and advanced mechanics. It is available in a clear-text version or a hidden-text version that uses colored scramble text and a red foil to conceal information until it is discovered.
