Four Against Darkness

A solo dungeon-delving game in which the player controls a party of four classic fantasy classes (warrior, wizard, rogue, halfling, dwarf, barbarian, cleric, elf). Players outfit their party, then explore dungeons generated by dice and tables, drawing room contents, monsters, traps, treasure, and quests as they go. Combat, trap checks, spellcasting, resource management, and experience tracking are resolved with two six-sided dice, pencil notes, and grid paper; no miniatures or a GM are required. Characters level up and improve over multiple runs while the book’s random tables and flowcharts create unpredictable dungeon layouts and encounters.
