Destinies
Players take on the roles of heroes in a dark medieval-fantasy world and pursue individual destinies through competing storylines. An app drives the narrative and handles events while players explore a modular map by revealing tiles, visiting points of interest and resolving encounters. Choices during scenarios branch into different quest paths, affect the state of the world and push play toward one of several victory routes for each character. Gameplay blends exploration, decision-driven storytelling and tactical resolution of challenges, with Scan&Play app support replacing a traditional game master.

Flink6.0 **Played the first story from the base game** PROS: · Everything looks amazing at first sight: components of great quality, lots of cards, tiles and minis. Very robust companion app as well! · One thing I like quite a bit, though, is that each story is independent from the others so no need to play regularly and remember previous actions from previous stories. · Box has a super cool insert that keeps everything nice and tidy. · The art on both components and app is phenomenal. CONS: · Once you start playing, some BUTs start to rise: with the aforementioned companion app, the table components lose A LOT of protagonism, almost non-necessary asides from the player boards and the different market spots. · The narrative is quite immersing but lacking replayability (story won't change for different runs, so if you play at 2-3 players, you'll only have 1 option left to see its story) and options: it all ends with a dice roll and good luck. · Minis are super cool but like "MINI" minis, hard to tell them apart when picking them up from the box and once they're on the board. Summing up, it is my first game of this kind and the feeling I end up with is that I REALLY want to play a game similar to this that really WOWS me, because this has not, so right now I'm looking at Tainted Grail as an option.
Jan Solo7.0 Interesante juego de exploración. Imprescindible App.
Rules questions
Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.
Can I move and explore on the same turn?
A turn has Start, Movement and Visiting a Point of Interest; you may move up to 2 orthogonal tiles and if you move onto an unexplored tile you must immediately explore it and then may choose a POI to visit on that tile (p.6).
How many Effort dice can I roll and when do they refresh?
You have 3 Effort dice and may choose to roll any number of the Effort dice you have in your supply together with your 2 Main dice; used Effort dice become exhausted and you refresh one Effort die at the start of your turn (pp.7, 6).
How do I count successes when resolving a test?
Sum the numbers on all rolled dice and compare that total to your relevant skill track: each skill marker on a value less than or equal to the roll total counts as one success, and each Effort die ★ result is an automatic success added to the total (p.7).
When should I scan an Item or Destiny card instead of taking a Test?
Some POI options let you scan an item or your Destiny: using the correct item via scan gives an automatic success (wrong item auto-fails), while scanning a Destiny reveals hints; a situation that offers both a scan and a test lets you attempt only one method that turn (pp.8, 11).
What's my inventory limit and how do I get rid of extra items?
Each player’s inventory is limited to 5 Item Cards; if you exceed five you must immediately abandon excess items or use their Discard ability to remove them, and abandoned items are placed on the map with Trade Stack markers so others can pick them up (p.11).
How do I trigger my Finale?
After you fulfil your Finale requirements, visit the specific Point of Interest hinted on your Destiny card and the app will present the option to begin your Finale (that option appears only for the qualifying player) (p.9; see Destiny scanning on p.8).
