Scheming guilds compete to build a castle for the king, spreading their influence through its bailey districts while seeking wealth, power, and renown. Players build walls outward from the central castle, recruit workers, spend gold, acquire cards, and complete goals and quests. Influence determines who claims renown when a bailey is completed, but questionable deeds increase Infamy and Corruption. During royal inspections, the king strips influence from guilds whose actions have grown too notorious.
