Gladiator

Detailed man-to-man wargame portraying gladiatorial combat in the Roman arena. Players select gladiators with individual fighting skills and use simultaneous, pre-plotted movement to seek a positional advantage. Once within range, they choose combinations of attacks and defensive measures to weaken, wound, or kill their opponent. Different gladiator types provide varied equipment and tactics, from heavily armoured fighters with shields to lightly protected retiarii armed with nets and tridents. Victory goes to the surviving combatant, although the defeated fighter’s fate may depend on the Emperor’s decision.
