Hannibal & Hamilcar
Recreates the struggle between Rome and Carthage across the First and Second Punic Wars in two linked, asymmetrical two-player designs. Players use a card-driven system to move generals, levy and reinforce troops, influence provinces politically, and trigger historical events. Military engagements resolve with a separate set of battle cards, while a strategic layer models political control and operational maneuvering. One edition focuses on the broader classical conflict and includes scenarios, variants, and expanded content; the companion game covers the earlier war with an added naval system and fleet combat as players compete for control of the Mediterranean.

That was a challenge. :) With printed war elephants - just for the fun. I ordered the giant playmat too. Really looking forward to! I just need more time and more "warhead" buddy to play with... or I just start playing solo.
Garfield1.0 16 Wow, I first should have a look at the rules before buying... Seriously, how many hours do I have to spend to learn the game? 5 hours? And then I can begin from scratch because I forgot what I learned at the beginning? If you like games with 30 pages of rules with almost no pictures and no examples, then here you go...
setropo7.5 No me gusta la mecánica de cartas del combate, por lo demás me parece un gran juego.
Rules questions
Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.
When and where do reinforcements enter the board (including Scipio)?
Reinforcements arrive in the Reinforcement subphase according to the faction-specific placement restrictions and procedures (see Reinforcements and consul/proconsul placement on p.7), while Scipio Africanus is handled as a special reinforcement in the Strategy Phase rules on p.8.
How do Strategy Card OPs work — can I both move a general and place Political Control with the same OP?
Each OP on a Strategy Card may be spent either to move a general/army or to place Political Control (PC) as described in the Strategy Card and OP rules; you choose one effect per OP when you play it (see p.8–9 for card elements and OP uses).
What's the stacking limit for armies and how do generals' rank/subordination affect movement?
Stacking and general subordination rules define how many combat units and generals may form an army and which general commands subordinate units; rank and subordination determine who may move or be left behind when armies split or combine (see stacking, rank and movement on p.11).
When can the enemy intercept my overland movement, and how is an interception resolved?
Land interceptions may be attempted when an enemy force has the right to intercept during movement and follow the interception restrictions, die roll and backing-up procedure; the full interception timing, die resolution and multiple-interception rules are on p.15–16.
If I lose a land battle, what are the rules for retreats, withdrawals and attrition losses?
Battle losers suffer casualties, possible attrition rounds and must retreat according to the retreat and withdrawal procedures (including penalties and how to attempt a withdrawal); detailed resolution of casualties, retreat losses, withdrawal attempts and attrition (including siege-related attrition) are on p.19–21 and siege attrition on p.25.
How does Political Control get placed, converted and removed — are isolated PC markers removed automatically?
PC placement, conversion and the rules for removing isolated Political Control markers (including when and how they are removed) are covered with examples and procedures on p.23.
