Animals
Jungle
Two players command opposing packs of eight animals on a gridded board, aiming to occupy the opponent’s den. Pieces move one square at a time and capture by strength hierarchy, with special interactions (for example, the smallest animal can defeat the largest under specific conditions). The board includes terrain effects: a river that restricts most movement but can be crossed by certain pieces in special ways, and trap squares that nullify an animal’s strength and allow weaker pieces to capture it. Play emphasizes tactical positioning and timing rather than deep abstraction, and is accessible to younger players.
