2019 · Abstract Strategy
SHŌBU
Players command natural stone pieces across a four-board layout divided into two halves. Each turn consists of a two-part action: a passive move of one stone up to two spaces (including diagonals) followed by an aggressive move matching the same direction and distance. The aggressive move can push opponent stones across a board or off its edge. Victory occurs when a player removes all four of an opponent’s stones from any single board. The game is an abstract, two-player strategy that emphasizes spatial planning, coordinated piece movement, and tactical pushing across adjacent boards.
