Komikan
A two-player hunt game from the Mapuche tradition that uses an expanded Alquerque board with an attached triangular section. One side controls a single powerful hunter piece that moves one space along board lines and captures enemy pieces by leaping over them. The opposing side fields twelve weaker herd pieces that move one space along lines but do not capture; their goal is to surround and immobilize the hunter or to occupy every space in the triangular extension (depending on variant). Play follows the board’s pattern of points and lines, and several triangular configurations produce distinct regional variants.
