Tak

2017 · Abstract Strategy

Tak

Players take turns placing and moving pieces to build a contiguous path connecting opposite sides of the board. Pieces may be placed flat (counting toward a road and able to be stacked), stood on edge as walls (blocking roads and not counting), or played as capstones that act as flats but can also crush standing walls. On a turn a player may place a piece, pick up and carry a column of stacked pieces to drop along a line, or use a capstone to flatten a wall. The first player to complete an unbroken road of flat or capped pieces between the board edges wins.
