La Petite Mort

Players take on the role of apprentice reapers guiding a cast of characters from birth through life and, eventually, to death in order to earn a Reaping Diploma. Each player develops characters in their tableau who gain traits, strengths and weaknesses that affect how and when they can be reaped. Players score by achieving objectives on their Diploma, typically by shepherding characters to a natural death that matches needed weakness symbols. Reap cards can also target opponents’ characters if the required weakness symbols are present, though those gains may be shared. Some cards grant strength symbols that cancel weaknesses and protect characters. Multiple difficulty diplomas provide varied setups from beginner to expert.
