Players take the roles of paleontologists excavating fossil-rich rock. They place workers to dig for rock samples, prepare those samples to uncover fossils, and build collections of different fossil types. Fossils can be exhibited to generate income, sold to collectors according to request cards, or presented at academic conferences to gain fame and improve future excavations. Money and fame are managed throughout the pursuit of a successful research career.
