Mangrovia
Players compete to place huts across a Caribbean mangrove to score Chief points by holding majorities along eight divine paths monitored by statues. Each turn a single marker selects two actions and determines their execution order via a boat that moves among ritual sites, balancing early access to cards or amulets against later building opportunities. Building a hut requires activated landscape spaces and exact payment (cards or amulets), so resource timing and precise spending matter. Amulets can be kept for points or spent to build on special spaces, and the board’s overlapping path matrix creates contested spots that reward careful placement and planning.

Garfield3.0 Oh not again a worker placement sh** game. I don't feel the theme and I'm tired of these mechanics over and over again. Why not some nice statues made of wood? Or 3D?
Evan4.6 This is a wonderful, quick playing thinky euro, where you have that most wonderful combination of simple choices with complicated ramifications. Essentially what you are doing is either gathering cards in one or more of the three game currencies, or building huts. Huts do all sorts of wonderful area control at the end of the game depending on where you place them. One area gives you extra draws from a sack of spendable points, one area will calculate who has the most, another will calculate total huts in that area, and then it's combined with a Urban Sprawl style 'majority in the row and column'. To make things even more exciting, there is a single action spot available each round that lets you build 2 huts into a single spot, meaning even if a player thinks they are sitting pretty, someone can still upset the balance. :star: Art, Iconography and components functional :star: Clever or interesting mechanisms :star: Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players :star: Multiple plays stay interesting :star: Low or mitigatable luck elements :star::star::nostar::nostar::nostar: Raw enjoyment
Taha Afyouni6.5 Great family game with a clever action selection mechanism.
