Proving Grounds

Play a lone combatant fighting to clear her name and reclaim a throne by surviving a deadly arena trial. This is a real-time, solitaire dice game that blends a short novella-driven scenario with fast-paced combat resolution. Players read the included story to set the narrative, then run through a training game or one of six modular encounter packs that alter enemies, hazards, and objectives. Gameplay centers on timed dice rolls, card-driven threats, and resource management as the protagonist pursues victory by defeating foes, evading traps, and enduring waves of opposition. Modules can be used singly or combined to increase complexity and challenge.

Frantic dice-chucking solitaire game. PROS - The mechanics are really easy to understand but require some games to optimize. - It involves a lot of luck, but you will not win games if not playing properly. Luck is something to work around in the game, not its core. - It does convey its theme, specially when using its app. You'll feel the pressure of being in battle. - The amount of variants you can include give it a lot of extra life. CONS - There is no strategy here, just 20 minutes rolling dice and feeling pressure. It might not be the game you always want to play when alone, it requires a certain mindset to be enjoyed. - A lot of dice are involved, and sometimes things just do not go your way. It may be frustrating for some players, but it is just a characteristic of the design.
