Players use general knowledge and deduction to solve a mysterious theft involving a famous person, a stolen object, and a hiding place. They roll the dice and move around the city, visiting color-coded clue spaces that reveal information about each part of the answer. Clue chips can be spent to receive help from the former master detective. When a player believes they have solved the case, they race to the police station and record their guess. A correct solution wins the game; an incorrect guess eliminates that player.
