RAN
This historical wargame covers seven battles from Japan’s Sengoku Jidai, when rival daimyo fought to expand their power and pursue the office of Shogun. Scenarios range from small engagements in mountainous or wooded terrain to the large, reinforcement-heavy battle of Tennoji. Players command samurai armies using formations, reserves, arquebus fire, movement, and individual acts of courage. Combat reflects the personal and often fluid character of samurai warfare, with victory determined by battlefield objectives, leadership, and the collection of enemy heads. A battle rules system and scenario book support the engagements.
