SCAPE

2015 · Card Game

SCAPE

Players enact an escape attempt by Allied prisoners at a World War II POW camp through hand management and card play. On a turn, a player must play a card either face down to build tunnel piles that spell out S-C-A-P-E, or face up to resolve that card’s action and reveal its letter and allegiance. Face-down plays extend or cover existing tunnel piles; face-up plays trigger special abilities and expose the card’s identity before discarding. After playing, the active player draws back to four cards when possible and pass play to the right until the deck is exhausted. At game end, the first card in each tunnel pile is revealed; victory depends on whether the escape word is complete and which revealed affiliations appear in the piles.
