1979 · Abstract Strategy
Seti
Players command two types of pieces—pharaohs and high priests—on a narrow rectangular board and attempt to advance a piece to the opponent’s baseline. Pieces move in distinct, familiar patterns; the exact moves vary by edition and by whether players use the basic or advanced setup. The basic game is played on a 3×10 board and may include an additional ship-of-the-dead piece that can render a piece temporarily invulnerable. The advanced variant uses a 5×10 board and omits the ship. Alternative rule sets introduce changes to high-priest movement and optional configurations with two pharaohs per side.
