Shoudo: The Scorched Earth Game

Two players command rival clans during the Sengoku Jidai, Japan’s civil war, seeking to become Shogun. A randomly arranged battlefield of 40 terrain cards forms a 5×8 map, where each player controls three armies that can burn enemy lands and attack opposing armies and castles. Combat is resolved over up to three rounds, with players rolling a six-sided die and adding their unit’s strength and terrain bonus. The first player to win two rounds wins the combat, while destroying the opponent’s Daimyo castle wins the game. Four clans have distinct abilities that provide different tactical advantages.
