Smolensk: Barbarossa Derailed

The German advance along the Moscow highway meets stubborn Soviet resistance during the summer 1941 campaign around Smolensk. Players command German and Soviet forces in an operational wargame covering the campaign from 8 July to 8 September. German formations begin with superior quality and mobility but face logistical constraints, coordination problems, and the diversion of panzer units. Soviet forces launch successive counteroffensives using tank divisions, militia, anti-tank units, and an alarm pool. Seven scenarios range from a short introductory action to the full 19-turn campaign.
