Holland '44: Operation Market-Garden

A two-player operational wargame that recreates the Allied combined airborne and ground offensive in the Netherlands in September 1944. Play begins with the airborne landings on 17 September and runs through 23 September as Allied forces attempt to reach and hold a Rhine bridge while relieving isolated airborne units. Units represent formations from company to brigade on a 2 km-per-hex map covering the front from the Belgian border to Arnhem; most counters are battalions. The system uses an I-go/You-go sequence with movement, combat, zones of control, determined defense, extended movement and traffic markers, and places emphasis on river crossings, bridge construction and combat in flat polder terrain. Turns are split into AM, PM and Night; the box includes maps, hundreds of counters, player aids and a rulebook. Solitaire-friendly, medium-high complexity.

Clásico moderno de Simonitch. Muy recomendable, dificultad media, bastante rejugable (para el tema que trata)
