The Battle of Fontenoy: 11 May, 1745

A historical wargame covering the Battle of Fontenoy during the War of the Austrian Succession, with French forces defending prepared positions against British, Dutch, and Hanoverian troops. Players command infantry battalions, cavalry regiments, and artillery batteries on maps scaled at 100 yards per hex, with turns representing 20 minutes. Scenarios allow the Allies to attempt an outflanking maneuver, reinforce both armies, or fight without the French defenses. The game also includes the Battle of Melle, a smaller meeting engagement played on a half-sized map, where both sides maneuver to secure their objectives before nightfall.
