The Lesser Players' Tale
A grubby troupe of Renaissance actors travels from audience to audience, performing and repeatedly adapting a racy tragedy to suit each crowd’s absurd demands. Players improvise a ten-minute version of the play while managing the troupe’s relationships, dangers, and opportunities. The story features treachery, forbidden romance, scheming servants, uncertain deaths, a clown’s testimony, and a lusty queen.
