The Pacific War: From Pearl Harbor to the Philippines

This two-player wargame covers the Pacific theater from December 1941 to June 1944, as Japanese forces confront those of the United States, Great Britain, Australia, and the Netherlands. Players deploy aircraft carriers, battleships, cruisers, and land-based aircraft to contest ports, bases, and control of the region. Each player uses a limited hand of resource cards to plan operations, gain the initiative, and defeat opposing forces. Japan begins with greater strength, while the Allies gain power and resources over the course of the game. Victory depends on Japan achieving significant gains and delaying defeat, or the Allies securing a faster victory.
