This War Without an Enemy
A two-player strategic block wargame set during the mid-17th century struggle across England, Scotland and Ireland between Royalist and Parliamentarian forces. Players manage separate card decks that combine operations and historical events, adjust over time, and drive recruitment, movement and combat. Units are represented by leader and regional blocks, with recruitment tied to regions. Combat uses modified block-battle mechanics with distinct rules for artillery, cavalry and infantry plus a bespoke siege and storming system. Victory points come from capturing opponent-held cities, and the Parliamentarian side can also score by capturing the King. Several scenarios offer shorter or full-length campaigns.
