A tactical simulation of five battles from the Thirty Years’ War focusing on the rise of the French army in the 1635–1648 period. Players command wings of troops—infantry battalions, cavalry regiments and artillery batteries—each wing assigned a commander and an order that constrains its available actions. Play resolves cavalry charges, cavalry pistols for skirmish and close combat, and artillery grazing fire, with emphasis on coordinating wing actions and maneuver in varied terrain. Includes scenarios for Rocroi, Freiburg, Mergentheim, Alerheim (Second Nördlingen) and Lens, plus a series rulebook, playbook, maps, counters and player aids for one-session tactical battles.
