Trickarus
Players take the roles of fledgling flyers competing to climb a shared vertical track by winning trick-taking rounds. Each trick’s winner advances upward one open space on the track, while flying too high into the sun causes a dramatic drop below the lowest player. Cards have two alternating values and the trump suit can change whenever a five-card is played; optional Stormy Weather rules add Lightning cards that swap which suits are strongest. The game supports competitive and cooperative modes for 2–5 players, with a special two-player variant that introduces a face-up dummy hand and asymmetric victory goals. Rules are straightforward to teach but offer strategic depth through suit management, timing of trump shifts, and position on the track.
