1983 · Card Game
Up Front
Man-to-man infantry combat set in World War II Europe using cards instead of a traditional board. Players move squads by playing Action cards and resolve fighting across Terrain cards that represent changing ground and relative ranges rather than fixed hexes. Gameplay emphasizes small-unit tactics, fog of war, and command limitations; turns represent short periods of time and combat typically occurs within close ranges. The system supports a variety of weapons, vehicles, fortifications and special forces, and includes rules for multiplayer and campaign play as well as scenario design and customization.
