In the year 2352, humanity travels between the stars using Jump Drives, while pirates, alien species, and powerful Battle Modules threaten the frontier. Players begin as survivors of a space pirate attack that sends the exploration vessel S.S. Swordfish into a Jump Miss and strands its crew in distant systems. The game combines science-fiction exploration with character-driven adventure as players navigate unfamiliar worlds, encounter hostile and peaceful factions, and contend with the dangers of a scattered, politically divided galaxy.
