As the Citadel prospers and its population grows, a Dark Master threatens to enter its walls. The five Grand Masters must protect the city, while some may be drawn to the dark side and reveal themselves as traitors. Players expand their influence, manage income, and choose whether to invest in dark power or support the church and the forces of good. Watchtowers help defend against attacks, while new castle cards and income blocks provide additional strategic options. The Dark Master acts as an extra force in the game, making alliances and loyalties increasingly uncertain.
