Insurgent Tide: Counterinsurgency in Iraq, 2003-2008

Coalition forces battle insurgents for control of Iraq’s provinces from 2003 to 2008. Players alternate card plays representing movement, combat, reinforcements, and other actions, then decide which cards to repurchase for the following year. Coalition forces build control through Iraqi security units while managing casualties and political backlash. Insurgents activate cells to contest provinces, generate resources, and inflict casualties. The game supports two players or solitaire play using a dedicated bot system, with turns representing one year and units ranging from insurgent cells to multinational divisions.
