Players explore an open world using a rotating hand of cards that represent travel options and actions. Each turn a travel card is chosen to move to a new location and reveal new actions and enemies, and another card is chosen to perform an action at that location. Enemies accumulate from visited locations and must be defeated or avoided while players work to complete mission requirements before their supply of time cubes runs out. Characters level up during play, allowing more symbols to be crossed off travel cards and enabling faster completion of missions. The game supports independent scenarios with five characters, a free-form trip-planning solo mode, and a narrative solo campaign told across chapters as objectives are completed.
