SphereWars

A fantasy skirmish wargame in which players build and command small warbands of 28mm miniatures. Play uses an I Go, You Go structure for movement and activation, while combat and magic resolve simultaneously by opposed rolls to determine which side’s actions bypass defenses or counter spells. Leaders must be included in every warband and can only directly command units within 5"; courier figures carry orders to units beyond that range. Orders grant effects such as bonuses or automatic morale passes. Players also manage “power gems” during magical contests, bluffing and bidding to force opponents into overcommitment. Four core factions are represented, with additional races and technological options released later. Miniatures come unassembled and unpainted; the game requires a ruler and six-sided dice.
