Tattletale

A fast-paced microgame about shifting allegiances in an elementary-school playground. Players secretly represent different factions, plotting or opposing plots to gain glory before the teacher shuts everything down. Successful plots increase the school’s Homework or Horseplay, while players score for carrying out or stopping plots. Secret roles provide additional end-game scoring, from rewarding Homework or Horseplay to forming a scoring partnership with another player. Twice during the game, players point fingers to assign blame and reduce opponents’ glory. Turns use an iterative Prisoner’s Dilemma structure, with a third player able to cancel both actions by correctly predicting them.
