This is a Civ themed card game where you have a central display of cards, and players can put a coin offer on any card, or purchase a card for it's offer either to the player that set the price or the bank if they were the ones to set the price. Then the card gets put into their tableau and activates it's ability. Cards of the same color splay like in Innovation where you only get the text ability of the top card in the color stack, but you still get the benefit of the icons underneath. I enjoyed most elements of this game, although I wasn't prepared for just how low scoring it is, and the final round felt very swingy as more powerful cards hit with less time to do anything about them. We all laughed because as the game ramps up players get more and more money, and just when they start feeling comfortable, the communism card hits the display, where the effect is redistribute all the money among the players, and it just sits there waiting for someone to put a offer on it. Definitely needs more plays to get a feeling of the how and why of how to play, but my initial impression is that other than the game taking less time than other card based civs, it's not likely to become the favorite among a group that includes Innovation, Patchistory and Nations. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ★ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ★ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★☆☆☆ Raw enjoyment
