The Weimar Republic: Political Struggle in Germany, 1919-1933

Players represent one of four political factions vying for control of Germany during the interwar years: a democratic coalition, the Soviet-backed communists, National Socialists, or far-right conservatives. The game runs on a 15-year timeline with two rounds per year and era-specific event decks. On a turn, players use faction abilities and cards to increase regional influence, campaign in major cities, recruit and deploy forces, and pursue actions such as agitation, reforms, strikes, uprisings, assassinations, and coups. Elections and parliamentary control cards trigger irregular shifts in local and national power. Play emphasizes shifting initiative, rapid reversals, and temporary alliances; victory is achieved by decisive, sudden-death political dominance rather than end-game scoring. Games support 1–4 players with automated faction bots and scenarios from 90 minutes to several hours.
