12 Hours at Maleme

Simulates the one-day fight for control of Maleme airfield and the key Allied position on Hill 107 during the May 20, 1941 Crete operation. Two players command opposing forces—the German air-landing regiment and the New Zealand infantry battalion—seeking to seize or hold critical ground. Play proceeds with alternating unit activations: when a unit is activated its owner may move, fire, or attempt to remove pinned/regroup conditions, then the opponent activates a unit. Each side also has limited HQ actions to expand options. Certain die results advance a 30-minute time track, representing the clock toward withdrawal and affecting the flow of the battle.
