Against the Unknown

Players take the roles of hardboiled detectives, wartime spies, and investigators of the uncanny. The streamlined investigative system uses background cards for quick character creation and skill packages that provide the group with a range of abilities. Investigative abilities are used without dice, while general tests add them to die rolls. Characters track physical Damage and mental Shock, and can voluntarily suffer harm to improve their chances of success. The system is compatible with existing GUMSHOE materials.
