Age of Civilization

Players guide a compact civilization through six rounds, assigning workers to research technologies, build wonders, trade with others, and develop culture or military strength. Each player controls up to three historical civilizations over a session: starting with one, then choosing when to raise, annex, or switch main civilizations to reset the workforce or gain legacy abilities. Timing and combination of civilizations drive strategic choices. Turns focus on worker placement and resource management as players balance expansion, technological progress, and scoring opportunities in a streamlined, empire-building experience.

Simple, small-sized worker-placement game. Haven't played the KS mini-expansions. PROS - Easy to understand and teach. - Nice introductory game to the worker-placement genre. One (big) step ahead from Mint Works. - The random setup grants different games, and there are tons of content to increase its replayability. - It's a pretty short, fast game. CONS - It's supposed to feel like a civilizations game, but it just doesn't. Not enough development for that. - The differences between games are not that big, mainly because of how short the games are and how limited the development feels. - In the same way, the combos are not flashy and their reach is narrow.
