Players reenact the 1777 campaign in southeastern Pennsylvania, commanding British and American forces as they maneuver for control of key ground and river fords near the road to the colonial capital. The game emphasizes operational movement, flank marches and the timing of reinforcements; one side attempts to execute a wide flanking advance while the other holds strong defensive terrain in depth and contests river crossings. Play involves planning corps-level movements, resolving tactical engagements, and managing command constraints and local intelligence to exploit or deny opportunities that can decide the campaign.
