A group of armchair detectives meets weekly while one player acts as host and presents a mystery based on a short narrative. Over a timed session, the other players take turns asking questions, spending limited funds to purchase information and to activate special abilities that reveal clues. Players cooperate by building the shared pool of evidence but compete to be the first to propose the correct solution; proposing an incorrect solution carries a heavy cost and can benefit opponents. Play emphasizes deductive reasoning, creative questioning and resource management as players try to reconstruct the crime before the hour runs out.
