Middle-earth Role Playing (1st Edition)

A fantasy role-playing system set in Middle-earth, with rules for creating characters from 15 human cultures and six professions: warrior, scout, mage, animist, ranger, and bard. Players explore the setting, resolve combat using simplified weapon and critical damage charts, cast spells from two realms, and face monsters, animals, and other encounters. The core book includes spell lists, equipment, encounter and creature tables, languages, setting information, and a sample adventure in the Trollshaws. Adventures published for this system are generally compatible with Rolemaster.
